Day for Dreams Event Supports Children With Cancer

Andiamo Coffee supports "A Day For Dreams", a not-for-profit organization founded with the purpose of bringing fun to kids with cancer and other life-threatening diseases and to help raise childhood cancer awareness.

Formed under the Jacob Shank Foundation founded by Susan McKay-Bohner, they will be hosting an event in conjunction with the Ronald McDonald House of Manhattan and Long Island on Saturday, August 5th, 2006 called "A Day at the Beach" where approximately 20 - 25 children and their families will be treated to a fun-filled day.

However, they need help raising approximately $5500 to make this event a reality. All donations are tax deductable and will be used strictly for the event with no administrative fees as all labor and service are donated. Andiamo Coffee will be contributing desserts for the event.

Rick Riccardi, who is sponsoring the event at his Bayville Beach House, will be handling the event coordination and arrangements. Leeza’s Place at Park Slope Geriatric Day Center Publishes August Newsletter

Leeza’s Place at Park Slope Geriatric Day Center is a community-based program designed to educate, empower, and energize families whose lives have been touched by a memory disorder.

Please take a minute to look through their August 2006 Newsletter containing a listing of free workshops and support services available in August. Their walk-in resource center, open 12-7pm Monday through Friday, is full of helpful resources for family Caregivers and their loved ones who have been diagnosed with a memory disorder and guests are always welcome to drop by or call ahead with questions so that information is prepared prior to their arrival.

Andiamo Coffee Caters BBQ Picnic Honoring War Veterans

On Sunday, July 9th, 2006, Andiamo Coffee catered a picnic dedicated to war Veterans at Bruno Longo Field in Yonkers, New York, cooking up delicious hamburgers, hotdogs, and all the other ingredients that make a barbeque so much fun. See slideshow

So many people and organizations contributed to the day's success, including the fire department who provided the drinks, various bands who entertained at the event, the gorgeous and talented girls of the USO who belted out tune after tune as the crowd sang along to the classics, and of course Wellcare Inc., who sponsored and organized the entire event.

Andiamo not only barbequed the food in the "Pit Area", but also served it all with smiling faces as all in attendance seemed to really enjoy both the food and the atmosphere. And with an expected crowd of over 800 people, the weather cooperated as well as you couldn't have asked for a nicer day.

Andiamo Coffee's proud of our Veterans and continues their dedication to charitable causes. We were incredibly happy and honored to work this event. Great food... great people.. great day... and a great result in the soccer world with Italy winning the World Cup!
