Starbucks Employee "Wow"-ed by Kenya AA

Hard to believe, but a Starbucks employee (who asked not to be identified, for obvious reasons) walked into the Andiamo Coffee roastery today and asked for "something I can't find at Starbucks".

My find implulse was to say, "Oh, you mean you want good coffee?", but instead served up a sample of Kenya AA. Her response?

"wow!"... "I mean... just wow!"

And that was drinking it straight - no milk, no sugar, no flavoring. Something tells me Starbucks coffee won't be doing it for her anymore.

Coffee Selections at HBA Baby Boomer Expo Announced

Many people have asked us what to expect when they visit our booth at the HBA Baby Boomer Expo on October 15th. The answer is simple: great coffee and great tea! We'll have the following on display for the event:

Baby Boomer Reminders

The next Baby Boomer Expo general meeting will be held on Friday, Oct. 7th. Contact us for a flyer to send out to your contact list to make it easy for you to invite your friends and colleagues. The Baby Boomer Expo will be held on October 15th and we still need Raffle Prizes for the event. We also need volunteers to help us out on that day to serve as "hosts". Please support your organization that works hard for the benefit of its members.

If you are a vendor at the Expo, you must have your 75 word "Description" for the Directory in no later than Sept. 26th! Include your Company's name, address, and phone just as you want it printed. THIS MUST BE SENT IN A WORD DOCUMENT TO Lisainc@timesledger.com. If you are a speaker, same applies and you may include a photo.

Update on the Baby Boomer Expo

The Greater New York Baby Boomer Expo is filling up, with only about 8 vendor tables left!!

We are asking for your help in distributing posters with FREE coupons on our "Army Day", where we'll all go out en masse hanging up posters, handing out flyers and then meeting for lunch. Join us THIS Saturday, Sept. 17th and you can either call Joe Adams (718 429-4238) for a certain neighborhood assignment, or go where you feel comfortable. Then we are all meeting for lunch at 12 Noon at Donovan's in Bayside. Hang 'em high either before lunch or after - your choice. Many store owners were really enthused last year, and even became vendors as a result.

We are also calling for Raffle prizes for the HBA Baby Boomer Expo as well. You can either contribute an actual gift item, a service, or donate cash to HBA to buy raffle prizes. You will get acknowledgement at the Expo.

Our flyers are being revised to add in the new sponsors, Sterling Bank (sponsoring another great speaker, Dr. Duffy Spencer) and Transcare Ambulance (sponsoring breakfast for all vendors and speakers). Copies will soon be available from Steve Spurgeon at Crown Advertising.
